Sport$trategies: The Podcast

A program devoted to the business of sports currently streaming at Itoc Italian on the Itoc Media network. On this limited bi-weekly series, we’ll examine how business owners in the Canadian sports industry faced the challenges posed by Covid-19 and how they’ve been able to mitigate the financial damage and project towards a positive path forward.

This week, I’m speaking with Joe Corapi of Best Ed Prep, formerly SAT Training. As a former student athlete at a prominent American university, Joe understood the value of creating an environment to adequately prepare to take the SAT or ACT exams for entrance to most American colleges and universities. That’s why five years ago, he and his colleague Paul Burghardt, started SAT Training, a GTA-based company that provides tutoring and preparation for high school student athletes who are on the path towards a post secondary education. Accustomed to offering in person information sessions and tutorials, Joe was faced with a new challenge with the emergence of the pandemic, which not only impacted scholastic recruitment and admissions but his entire approach to interacting with students and their parents.
